94 points Wine Spectator: "[$65 list] Very alluring, with linzer torte and plum cake notes pumping through, flecked liberally with anise and mesquite accents along the way. A nice red licorice strip adds contrast on the finish, with its sappy edge, while a roasted apple wood note holds everything together. Rock-solid. Best from 2023 through 2036. 2,100 cases made, 150 cases imported. (2022)"

92.4 points CellarTracker.com community score.

91 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Moving to the 2020s, the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape has a riper, richer style as well as beautiful notes of roasted garrigue, licorice, ground pepper, and both red and black fruits. Drink this outstanding, character-filled effort any time over the coming 10-12 years. Drink: 2022-2034. (11/11/22)"

**** John Livingstone-Learmonth (DrinkRhone.com): "(75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 3-4% Mourvèdre, 3-4% Cinsault, 3-4% Vaccarèse/Muscardin/Clairette blanche from Combe & Garrigue, “our great-grandfather Edmond’s blend who planted the vineyard in 1905, when we had 13 ha”, destemmed, vat-emptying, part refilling, pumping overs, cap punching on Syrah, 3538 day vinification, aged 75% concrete vat (Grenache), 25% new, 1-year 228-litre oak casks (Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Vaccarèse, Clairette, Muscardin) 12 months, then 3-6 months vat, unfined, unfiltered). dark red robe; the nose is very charming, comes forward well, via a bright black cherry aroma with a light and helpful salting. The palate is perfumed, juiced, flows well, gives gourmand pleasure, powdered mild tannins present, just a little granular on the finish. There’s a lot of freshness to help it. From 2024-25. “Harmony, balance, freshness here – there’s no dissonance with tannins of the skins, not the stems,” Vincent Maurel. 14.5°. Bottled 30 March 2022. 2042-44 May 2022."
