98 points La Revue du Vin de France: "The 2020's nose takes time to reveal itself, with notes of wild berries, pepper, sweet spices and sandalwood: majestic and deep from the outset, the palate builds power around a dynamic sap, set off by a very fine, polished grain of tannin. The sensation of joyful energy is accompanied by an impression of great softness, and a subtle, drawn out length. (2023)"

96-98 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Clos de Tart Grand Cru contains around 55% whole bunch this year with 65% new oak. It has a very limpid hue in the glass. The bouquet takes time to open but my word, it is beautiful, extraordinarily pure with black cherries, crushed stone, hints of pressed violet all exquisitely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a velvety smooth texture, fine acidity, the neatly integrated. Very sleek and sensual on the finish, this is a very sophisticated and somehow "complete" Clos de Tart. Around 13,000 bottles produced. Drink: 2027-2060. (Dec 2021)"

96-98 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Made with 55% whole bunch vinification, 65% new oak. Dense black centre with purple rim. There is a suggestion of an immense wealth of fruit here, though the detail is still to come. The depth though is spectacular. More dark fruit than red, but as ever both are in the equation. That little touch of wildness. Some very dark strawberries, and not quite a sensual finish but generous with very silky tannins. 13.8% alcohol and the best acidity of the three wines. (Nov 2021)"

97 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "A towering achievement. The new vintage of Clos de Tart demonstrates the nobility of this terroir with its immense depth of flavour, profoundly ripe red and black fruit, exotic spice, earthy elements and a saline/mineral touch. The texture is dense and firm, yet it is almost palpably voluptuous and still enlivened by a lovely freshness. There is definitely a touch of oak, but not enough to cover up the beauty of the wine. Lovely and special. Drinking Window: 2025-2060. (10/11/21)"

95-97 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Clos de Tart Grand Cru is brilliant, bursting from the glass with aromas of dark berries, peonies, rose petals, sweet spices, orange rind and incense. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's elegantly muscular and multidimensional, with terrific depth at the core, ample reserves of ripe, powdery tannins and a long, resonant finish. Seamless and integrated, it was blended in the summer of 2021 before returning to barrel to complete its élevage. (1/20/22)"

95 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from vines that average around 60+ years of age; <50% whole clusters and 65% new wood). Here the more reticent nose is also markedly floral in character with its ripe aromas of plum, cassis, black raspberry and plethora of spice nuances along with a mentholated top note. There is excellent size, weight and mid-palate concentration along with almost painful intensity to the big-bodied flavors that brim with sappy dry extract that helps to buffer the very firm tannins shaping the balanced and hugely long finale. This is excellent though note well that this beauty is going to require extended patience. I would also note that it's a Clos de Tart fashioned in a riper, but not unduly roasted or heavy, style. Drink: 2035+. (Jan 2023)"
