94 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "A proprietary blend of 57% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Petit Verdot, all homegrown, this is dense and powerful, rich in red fruit but also savory in tobacco, black tea and leather. Reflective of the appellation's ability to combine power with elegance, it fully represents and should continue to meld beautifully together in the cellar. Drink now through 2022. Alcohol 14.5%. (Dec 2015)"

93 points James Suckling: "A chewy and balanced red with blackberry and chocolate. Walnuts too. Full-bodied, round and refined. Savory and delicious. A blend of 57% merlot, 35% cabernet sauvignon and 8% petit verdot. Drink now. (7/28/15)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "[$100 list] Radiant and expressive, with no hard edges, the Merlot-based 2012 Elevage is an excellent choice for drinking over the next decade or so. There is wonderful immediacy to the plummy red fruit. Hints of rose petal, cinnamon and French oak are laced into the generous, inviting finish. Drink: 2014-2022. (Dec 2014)"

91+ points Robert Parker: "The well-known Proprietary Red Blend, the 2012 Elevage (57% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Petit Verdot) exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color along with a beautiful bouquet of blue fruits, blackcurrants, spice box, flowers and a hint of mocha. More concentrated than either the Cabernet Franc or basic Cabernet Sauvignon, it possesses attractive elegance, medium to full body and a long finish. Still young and promising, it should be even better in 3-4 years and last for 12-15 years. Drink: 2014-2030. (Oct 2014)"

91 points Wine Spectator: "Powerful and built for the cellar, this is wrapped in a rich, plush exterior. Aromas of cherry, green olive and bitter chocolate lead to layered flavors of currant, smoky herb and spice. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Best from 2018 through 2023. 1,654 cases made. (11/30/15)"
