This 15-year old from Château du Breuil has been one of the classic Pays d’Auge expressions since the 1970’s. Light amber in color, the nose is full of bright floral notes of apple blossom and violet, and intense baking spice. On the palate, it’s expansive and round, with warm apple strudel, and a touch of coffee and leather, but balanced by a fresh acidity and soft tannins that glide into a generous finish. Great example of a traditional style. (AOC Pays d’Auge, 41% abv.) 96 pointsJason Wilson, Vinous 2018.
