94 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "From a 0.38ha parcel where the oldest vines are nearly sixty years of age. A fermentation using a significant proportion of whole clusters has produced a wine that is somewhat closed initially, but opens on the palate to show a remarkable purity of red and black berry fruits, with a salty, mineral tang. Not overly forward, but absolutely massive on the palate, with firm tannins, plenty of extract and enough freshness to lead it to a long finish. Drinking Window: 2024-2039. (10/24/20)"
94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(this has the highest average vine age of the three grands crus at 40+ years of age). In the same vein as the Bressandes, this too is exceptionally spicy with perhaps even more floral influence, especially rose petal, on the red and blue pinot fruit aromas. The succulent and energetic medium-bodied flavors possess an absolutely gorgeous texture that is fine yet powerful and mineral-driven while delivering superb length on the serious, austere and built-to-age finish. This is potentially brilliant but a wine that is definitely going to require extended patience. Drink: 2034+. (Apr 2021)"
92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Corton Clos-du-Roi Grand Cru is the most backward and sultry of three Corton Grand Crus tasted from Chandon de Briailles. Despite that, it will ultimately boast the most precision and mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and caressing in the mouth. Unlike the nose, this is more expressive and giving. Silky-smooth red berry fruit appears on the finish. Lovely, but comparing side by side, my money is on the Bressandes. Drink: 2023-2038. (Dec 2020)"
