98 points Luca Gardini: "South-eastern area of Montalcino. From an innovative wine project, a refined and taut Brunello, one of the symbols of this typology now. Vertical to the nose, with red currant in evidence, then wild mint and chinotto, with touches of peony and blood orange. Crisp-taut drinkability, with salty tannins. Fruitycitrusy return on the finish. (Oct 2022)"

98 points Falstaff Guide: "Deep, shimmering ruby with a fine garnet sheen. Opens on the nose with notes of wild raspberry and black cherry, plus fine spicy components, violets in the background. Substantial and dense in the flow, shows fine characteristics, compact tannin in many layers, in the finish a rich bite, with notes of cloves. (Mar 2023)"

96+ points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "There is more depth to the 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova, with light smoky earth, black cherry, licorice, and black pepper. It is polished with fresh crunchy fruit yet retains a good amount of concentration, with notes of black raspberry, turned fresh soil, and graphite. Mouthwatering, with salinity, fresh acidity, and great length, it has fine tannins and warming spice on the finish. Drink: 2024-2044. (3/6/23)"

96 points James Suckling: "Elegant and perfumed nose of dried roses, violets, lemon zest, slate, cherries, aniseed and truffles. Very fine, tight and precise tannins. Medium to full body. I like the floral and saline undertones. So precise and fresh with a tight finish. Crushed stones at the end. Try in 2025, but already attractive to taste and drink. (11/29/22)"

96 points Susan Hulme MW (The Wine Independent): "This 2018 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova has a black-toned ruby color. It is very young and closed on the nose; blue-black berried fruit aromas are at the moment dominated by a little heavy oak note of cream, spice and leather. On the palate there are firm, chewy tannins and dark flavours. This is a robust style of Brunello, perhaps on the way to becoming more approachable at an early age, but at the moment the style is firmly robust and powerful. The fruit for the Tenuta Nova comes from the warmer south-eastern part of the DOCG. Drink 2024-2038 (May 2023)."

95 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "Here's a treat from Casanova di Neri. Aged in tonneaux for 30 months, the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is fleshed out and rich with pretty layers of dark fruit, dried blackberry, spice and cured tobacco. There is a point of sour cherry in this vintage that folds into crushed flower, balsam herb, licorice and crushed stone. The bouquet is classic, but the Casanova di Neri magic touch comes through thanks to the wine's balance and pretty intensity. Drink: 2025-2045. (Mar 2023)"

93+ points Eric Guido (Vinous): "The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is spicy and intense, wafting up with a wild mix of sweet herbs, cloves, dried citrus peels and crushed red plums. This is darkly elegant and refined, with polished red and black fruits elevated by hints of lavender and mint; yet beneath, a web of fine tannins slowly saturates the palate. Hints of cranberry and tangerine mingle with lavender through the long and structured finale, as the 2018 finishes beautifully balanced and classic in feel. With maturity, this may deserve an even higher score. Drink: 2025-2033. (Dec 2022)"
