96 points Joel B. Payne (Vinous): "Intriguing aromas of melon, hazelnut, clove and mineral salts. The delicate peach fruit, saline minerality and bright acidity are nicely interwoven on the palate, engendering layers of complexity. The luscious texture and savory finish of this well-balanced wine bring nut oils and a sophisticated finesse into play. With its outstanding length, this penetrating, thought-provoking wine is one of the two finest dry rieslings of the vintage, along with the G-Max from Keller. (Jan 2014)"

18.5/20 points Michael Schmidt (JancisRobinson.com): "Ripe fruit with an exotic tangent titillates the olfactory receptacles. On the palate the fruit is juicy to the extent of luscious, but without slipping into the tropical trap. Full bodied and with a rich texture, this is dry Pfalz Riesling par excellence, a gentle acidity adding to a perfect structure. Excellent length completes an outstanding performance. Drinking Window: 2013-2022. (8/30/13)"

Anne Krebiehl, MW (The Wines of Germany): "Bürklin-Wolf was instrumental in creating the world-class reputation of the Mittelhaardt... [and it] is still in family hands... Wines were made in an uncompromisingly dry style and as early as 1994 the single sites were labelled PC (premier cru) and GC (grand cru), according to the Royal Bavarian Classification of 1828. In 2005 the entire estate was converted to biodynamics, achieving certification in 2008... Their Pechstein Riesling is the stuff of legend... The wines are dry and textured, a joy, paradigms of balance that will age effortlessly. (2019)"
