94 points PinotFile: "[$55 list] 13.8% alc., 300 cases. Clones 777 and Wädenswil. Wild yeast fermentation in open-top French oak wood fermenters. 100% whole cluster. Aged 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% new. Moderately light garnet color in the glass. Soaring aromas of red cherry, red berry, spice and burnt tobacco. Remarkably delightful even at this early stage, offering a layered mid weight core of darker cherry and berry fruits that are tenacious through the mid palate and the long, chewy aftertaste. The oak treatment is deftly integrated, but some more time will be needed to ameliorate the fruit tannins. Still, this is a stellar wine of uncommon breeding and class from a vineyard that shone bright in this vintage. (2/20/18)"

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$55 list] A lot of Oregon vintners are eager to get on Shea's customer list, and this bottle is as good an example as any why that's the case. A striking mix of cranberry, strawberry, raspberry and marionberry flavors, it also sports a firm seam of stem and earth. The tannins are smooth and polished, with the pleasantly drying mouthfeel of tea. Alcohol 13.8%. (Mar 2019)"

91 points Wine Spectator: "Generous and well-built, with floral black cherry, stony mineral and orange peel flavors that take on momentum toward big but refined tannins. Drink now through 2024. 325 cases made. (8/31/18)"

91 points and 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(13.8%). One bottle was quite badly reduced though the second showed no such problem and while the nose was certainly restrained, aggressive swirling eventually liberates elegant and pure aromas of essence of both red and dark raspberry, spice and a floral hint. The mouth feel of the middle weight flavors is sleeker if a bit less muscular and robust than most examples of Shea though the typical firm tannins are sufficiently prominent to make clear that this is going to require at least moderate cellaring will be required. There is a touch of warmth though it's reasonably low key and not enough to really disturb the overall sense of balance. Drink: 0224+. (Oct 2018)"
