95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "All Syrah from the Sta. Rita Hills (I'm not sure about the vineyard sources here) and made by Greg Brewer, the deep ruby/plum-hued 2021 Syrah Sta. Rita Hills has textbook aromatics of ripe red and black fruits, gamey meats, bay leaf, ground pepper, and marine-like nuances. With medium to full-bodied richness, a pure, concentrated, layered profile, and flawless balance, it has a distinctly cool climate style while being gorgeously textured, layered, and elegant. It might be the finest vintage of this wine I’ve tasted. Drink bottles over the coming decade. Drink: 2023-2033. (8/30/23)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "[$50 list] Vibrant and snappy, with fresh cherry and pomegranate flavors that take on accents of pepper, meat and grilled anise as this builds richness and focus toward fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2032. (7/31/23)"
92 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2021 Ex Post Facto Syrah is all from the new Perilune development, done with 100% stems. Blue/purplish fruit, black pepper, menthol, licorice, lavender and dried herbs all run through this nuanced, layered Syrah. All signs suggest this will be an even better wine as the vines age. It's another superb wine from Greg Brewer. Drink 2024-2033 (Sep 2023)."
