87-89 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Bourgogne Côte d’Or, which has a tiny bit of new oak, has a lovely blackberry and wild strawberry bouquet that has commendable definition. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine depth with good concentration on the finish. If Bouley can capture that freshness post-bottling, this will be just a lovely red Burgundy to glug away until your heart's content. Drink: 2023-2027. (Dec 2021)"

88 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Bourgogne Côte d'Or reveals notes of plums, sweet berries, vine smoke and raw cocoa, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and seamless palate animated by lively acids. It's a strong effort at the regional level. (1/31/23)"

87-88 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Fine bright purple. The nose is discreet (cold samples). This is a clear crisp fine boned Pinot with a wealth of brisk cherry fruit behind and good length, displaying a classic fruit acid balance. (Nov 2021)"

87 points/'Outstanding/Top Value,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A slightly more deeply pitched array of various dark berries, plum and earth leads to fleshy, plump and round flavors that retain good vibrancy while displaying hints of rusticity and austerity on the more complex and persistent finale. This is quite good for its level and worth checking out. Drink: 2024+. (Apr 2022)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(From the bottom of the Volnay commune – Lamboits, still on the ‘right side’ of the road.) Plenty of colour but not too much. A bit of barrel reduction here. Rounder, more composed, stony wine here – cherry stone flavour and a bit of reduction here too. Great finishing. (1/19/22)"
