(2024)" 93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2022 Morgon “Corcelette Cailloux” Vieilles Vignes from Domaine Bouland is a fine example of the vintage, marrying ripe, deep fruit tones, fine soil inflection and a firm chassis of tannin to carry the wine many decades into the future. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a deep and still quite primary mix of sweet dark berries, black plums, pomegranate, pigeon, black tea, a dollop of fresh herb tones, dark soil elements and a topnote of peonies. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and structured, with a rock solid core of black fruit, fine soil undertow and grip, firm tannins and a long, tangy and nascently complex finish. This will demand some extended cellaring, like so many top examples of Morgon in this vintage, but once it is ready to drink, it will be outstanding. It comes in at the same fourteen percent octane as the Corcelette Sablé bottling this year, but seems a bit more precise and mineral-driven in personality. 2030-2075+. (Jan/Feb 2024)"
