92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Volnay Fremiets Clos de la Rougotte 1er Cru is almost a monopole (denied by a few vines belonging to Henri Boillot), although Bouchard Père are the only ones permitted to use the full title. It has a lovely bouquet of cassis-tinged red fruit, floral and well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins and a fine bead of acidity. A gentle Volnay with admirable mineralité coming through on the finish. Excellent. Drink: 2023-2040. (Dec 2020)"

91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2019 Volnay 1er Cru Frémiets Clos de la Rougeotte mingles aromas of cassis and plums with hints of dark chocolate, sweet soil tones and coniferous forest in a complex bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, layered and precise, it's long and mineral, with real elegance and precision. (Jan 2021)"

91-93 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Cool deep marl here so Frédéric Weber prefers to pick this plot late. Generous deep dark cherry fruit with some fresher red notes. There is plenty going on here, mineral touches, good length. More tannins, but also a crunchy texture. (Nov 2020)"
