96 points Michael Schachner (Wine Enthusiast): "Lusty aromas of black cherry and blackberry are powerful. Likewise, this Tempranillo from just outside the Ribera del Duero district tastes bullish, with blackberry, currant, mocha and rich oak flavors. Robust berry fruit along with spice and chocolate are the lead flavors on a strong, dense finish. This has the potential to age nicely for seven to 15 years. Drink through 2030. (08/01/16)."

94 points Josh Raynolds (Vinous): "Deep ruby. An explosively perfumed bouquet displays ripe boysenberry, cherry liqueur, licorice pastille and sandalwood scents and a smoky mineral topnote gains strength with air. Stains the palate with sweet, oak-spiced black and blue fruit, spicecake and vanilla flavors that show impressive vivacity for their depth. Smooth, slow-building tannins add grip to the finish, which hangs on with outstanding, dark-fruit-driven persistence. (Dec 2016). Drink 2018-2027."

94 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): "The 2011 VS was produced with the same grapes in 2010, but the differences of the growing season makes this 2011 more exuberant, showing upfront fruit with very polished tannins and a little riper. There are aromas of Mediterranean herbs, and it is soft and accessible, with good balance and length. This is a very worthy 2011. 25,000 bottles produced. Drink 2018-2026. (10/29/15)."
