94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2014 Vergelesses is a great bottle of Savigny in the making, as we have once again switched sides of the valley and are back on the Pernand side of the village. This is an utterly classic example in the making (and the 1972 Domaine Bize les Vergelesses remains to this day the most hauntingly beautiful and complex bottle of mature Savigny I have ever had the pleasure to taste, so I have great confidence just how stunning the 2014 will be in due course!), as it soars from the glass in a vibrant blend of black cherries, sweet dark berries, a complex base of minerality, currant leaf, espresso and a topnote of woodsmoke. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very complex, with impeccable focus and grip, ripe tannins and a nice sense of reserve on the very long, tangy and mineral finish. A great bottle in the making and probably one of the great bargains of the vintage! 2024-2060. (Nov/Dec 2015)"
90-93 points and 'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "There is a definite restraint to the dark currant suffused nose that displays hints of plum, floral and earth. There is excellent power and punch to the robust and tautly muscular medium-bodied flavors that possess fine precision on the firm, mineral-driven and admirably well-concentrated finish. I like both the overall sense of balance as well as the excellent length though note well that this serious effort is also going to require patience. Drink: 2026+. (Apr 2016)"
