94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2018 Vaudésir from Domaine Billaud is really a beautiful example of the vintage, with lovely purity and focus on both the nose and palate. The top notch bouquet wafts from the glass in a mix of pear, apple, a beautiful base of chalky soil tones, beeswax, white lilies and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with excellent focus and cut, a fine girdle of acidity, lovely undertow of limestone and a long, nascently complex and beautifully balanced finish. This is really good, but give it a bit of bottle age to allow its secondary layers to unfurl. 2024-2060. (Jul/Aug 2020)"
94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2018 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru is another scintillating wine that defies the vintage. Detailed scents of green apple mix with lemon peel and flint, and a hint of mirabelle emerges with time. This has a beguiling symmetry on the palate and gently fans out toward the persistent finish, its salinity urging you back for another sip. Glorious. Drink: 2023-2040. (Sep 2020)"
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Two parcels east and west, one next to Moutonne, the next close to Valmur/Grenouilles. ‘The two sides bring a special balance.’A bigger nose, of granular complexity, becoming both more floral and more mineral with air. Fuller, rounder but shimmering with acid-led complexity. This a brilliant mouthful of wine – again with amazing persistence! (Jan 2020)"
