95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos is a deep, seamless wine of considerable potential. Exhibiting aromas of freshly baked bread, citrus zest, orange oil, nutmeg and pear, it's full-bodied, rich and layered, with terrific concentration, racy acids and a long, saline finish. It's the most muscular wine in Billaud's range, but it retains faultless precision. Drink: 2025-2050. (Jul 2022)"
95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This was a closed and somewhat stubborn Les Clos – a surprise given the demonstrative nature of the other five. The nose is rather lactic in character with accents of white peppercorns, white peach and rain-splattered herbs. There is pent-up concentration on the palate that will evolve nicely in time. 2024-34. (2021)"
95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "From the top of Les Clos, on the Blanchots side. Pale colour. The bouquet is backward with just a little oak showing. Very powerful, very crunchy minerals, the white fruit reminding me as always of the limestone bemch of the underlying rock, though the 2020 les Clos still needs to climb through its oak, which it will. A wine for the long term. Wait and see just how good this will become! (Jun 2022)"
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(Top of the hill next to the Billaud-Simon/Faiveley vines. The only wine with some new wood.) Narrower but with a very attractive accent of noble reduction. Not the largest, not the most energetic – perhaps the most complex – full of zesty bitters and mineral and citrus accents – but the combination is probably the wine that’s the most complete today in the glass – I have to say ‘Bravo!’ (2/20/22)"
