98 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "The first vintage of this label coming exclusively from Tench vineyard in an Oakville hillside above Screaming Eagle and below Dalla Valle, the 2013 Proprietary Red EE Tench Vineyard is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple, it explodes from the glass with an atomic mushroom cloud of baked black plums, blackcurrant cordial, Morello cherries and Indian spices with suggestions of smoked meats, underbrush, tree bark and dusty soil. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it has a solid frame of firm, grainy tannins and compelling tension, finishing long and ferrous. 400 cases were made. Drink: 2021-2042. (2/11/21)"

96 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "A wine of superb purity, finesse and richness, the 2013 Red Wine EE Tench Vineyard offers superb balance to match its inviting personality. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the EE is totally alluring from the very first taste. The Franc adds striking floral and savory notes along with a kick of freshness. Drink: 2017-2028. (Oct 2015)"

94 points Wine Spectator: "Strikingly complex, rich and nuanced, with a wonderful sense of harmony and finesse. Displays an opulent core of juicy black cherry, blackberry, black licorice, savory dried herb, cedary oak and loamy earth. The finish gains depth and nuance, hanging on the palate. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2017 through 2030. 500 cases made. (5/31/16)"
