96-98 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "80% whole bunch vinification and no new wood. Mid crimson IN colour, absolutely beautiful on the nose, perhaps partly the whole bunch, beautifully floral, and very long. Keep coming back to this, so light on its feet and absolutely gorgeous. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted: November 2023."

96 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "This peerless Echézeaux has pronounced blackberry and plum aromas with an edge of smoke and savoury game notes. The texture is dense and tannic, but there is no 'makeup' here – Berthaut is not using any new casks for ageing (there are three in total), giving this wine great purity of fruit. She blends grapes from Les Treux, Quartier de Nuits, and Champs Traversins and ferments them with 80% whole clusters to deliver this thrilling result. It should begin to open in five years and will drink for two or three decades after that – this is a step up from her already-worthy range. Drinking Window: 2030-2065. (Nov 2023)"

94-95 points/'Outstanding,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Echezeaux is a unique wine here, as it includes 80% whole clusters. The fruit is fabulous and delicate; vivid and intense. With impressive concentration, this is velvety with a hedonistic feel. Sexy and perfectly judged; I love it. Drink from 2035. (1/14/24)"

93-95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Derived from three parcels that together produced four barrels, Berthaut's 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with aromas of sweet wild berries, orange zest, peonies, smoke and spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and suave, with terrific depth and purity, it's animated by lively acids and concludes with a penetrating finish. (1/18/24)"

92-95 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .20 ha holding in Les Treux, Quartiers de Nuits and Champs Traversin). This is also exuberantly floral in character with its mix of darker fruit aromas that include black cherry, plum and orange pekoe tea. The super-sleek, rich and impressively concentrated medium weight flavors flash evident power on the beautifully well-balanced and sneaky long finale. While this could use better depth, more will almost certainly develop if given a chance. Drink: 2034+. (Jan 2024)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru comes from three lieux-dits within the vineyard and contains 80% whole bunches this year. The flattering bouquet offers vibrant black fruit, cracked black pepper, pencil shavings and light, earthy scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It’s quite linear and maybe it doesn't kick on with the same joie-de-vivre as the Les Petits-Monts. Drink: 2026-2047. (Jan 2024)"

93.5 points CellarTracker.com community score.

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(3 small parcels; Treux and Quartiers de Nuits, plus some Champs Traversins higher near the wood. ‘This year’s the most we ever made – 4 barrels – none new – if we have less than 5 barrels there’s never any new oak.’) Hmm – that’s really elegant. A faint herbal note from the wc but that will get better and better. Fine shape in the mouth and real complexity, it’s deliciously flavoured – faintly grained but with a generosity to the flavour – as opposed to the texture. Just a very fine, delicious wine. (1/14/24)"
