93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The NV Brut Réserve Magnum (base 2020) is bright and beautifully focused right out of the gate. As always, the base wine for the magnum is one year behind the 750ml bottles. That extra time on the lees is one of the reasons why the magnum is often exceptional – it is again this year. Citrus, crushed rocks and white flowers are some of the many nuances that build over time. I especially admire the energy and overall tension here. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: November 2023. Drink: 2024-2034. (Mar 2024)"

93 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide): "(2020 base vintage; disgorged March 2023; tasted in 2023 in France). The current Brut Réserve is an exemplar of the succulent, glowing generosity of the ripe fruit mandate of Bérêche, with the creamy texture of barrel fermentation and lees age drawing out a long and complex finish. The flagship of Bérêche finds a new level of spicy exoticism in 2020, filled with layers of ripe stone fruits of all kinds, blood orange and layers of spice. It's at once fleshy and zesty, with saline minerality drawing out a long finish. (Edition VII; 2024)"

92 points/'Le Coup de Coeur,' La Revue du Vin de France: "Dynamic, vinous and driven with great precision of flavor, the Brut Réserve is one of the most ambitious in its category. (2023)"

92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The new release of the Bérêche et Fils non-vintage “Brut Réserve” is from the base year of 2020 and was disgorged in December of 2022 and finished with a dosage of six grams per liter. As is customary for this bottling from Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche, the vins clairs do not go through malo and thirty percent of the blend is composed of reserve wines; the cépages is one-third each of chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier. The bouquet is bright and complex, wafting from the glass in a fine mix of apple, pear, brioche, chalky minerality and a topnote of white flowers. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and nicely zesty, with lovely depth at the core, fine mineral undertow, elegant mousse and a long, complex and impeccably balanced finish. This is still a relatively young wine and a few years in the cellar will pay dividends. As has been the case for several years now, this is one of the best examples of non-vintage Brut produced anywhere in Champagne! 2023-2040+. (Nov/Dec 2023)"

Importer notes: "The range begins with the Brut Réserve, a blend of 70% wines from the base year with the balance reserve wines, composed from approximately one-third each of the three major varieties. A model of harmony, nuance and verve, it is a pure expression of the domaine’s varied terroirs that demonstrates both the Bérêche brother’s great skill and their originality."
