98 points and 'Top 50 Red Wine of 2018 (#21),' Jeb Dunnuck: "[$150 list] From a bottle purchased here in the United States, the 2015 Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse is a wine that should be purchased by the case (which is what I intend to do). This incredible blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc offers sensational purity in its crème de cassis, blueberry, graphite, lead pencil, licoice and forest floor-driven aromas and flavors. This is a big, rich, opulent wine, yet it has awesome purity and focus, with a distinct minerality keeping it fresh, focused and lively on the palate. Possessing ripe, sweet tannin, an inherent elegance and purity, perfect balance, and an awesome finish, this incredible Saint-Emilion is unquestionably one of the wines of the vintage. Do not miss it. Drink: 2020-2045. (12/12/17)"
95-98 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "A dark, brooding wine, the 2015 Beauséjour Héritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse may need twenty years to start drinking well. Today, the 2015 is imposing, with massive concentration and fabulous persistence, all supported by a vertical spine of tannin that is impossible to miss. Hints of graphite, smoke and licorice struggle to emerge from a huge wall of fruit and tannin. This is another wine that will require considerable patience. The 2015 is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, brought in between September 25 and October 12 and aged in 60% new oak. Tasted two times. (Apr 2016)"
96 points Wine Spectator: "This has some sizzle, with roasted mesquite and ebullient red licorice notes out front, as well as steak to match, featuring a core sporting ample crushed cherry, red currant and plum fruit flavors. Light tea and chalk threads skitter through the finish, where the fruit echoes nicely. This has grown a bit since the barrel tasting. Best from 2023 through 2040. 1,500 cases made. (3/31/18)"
93-95 points Wine Enthusiast: "This wine is firmly structured, with dense tannins and concentrated black-fruit flavors. The acidity provides a lifting edge that enlivens the finish."
93-94 points The World of Fine Wine: "Minerally and complex to smell; full, fresh, finely tannic, slightly warm; sweet and fine to taste, long, elegant, restrained, great finesse of texture, subtle, mineral-infused alongside the sweetness, great length, and fine minerally aromatic persistence. First-rate. 2025-40. (Issue 52; 2016)"
