Paolo Bea is one of the founding fathers of natural wine in Italy, and remains arguably the greatest producer in Umbria today. On a tiny vineyard way up in the hills of central Italy, he makes tiny quantities of wines using local, organically-farmed grapes. This savory orange wine is made with a grape called Trebbiano Spoletino from 80 year-old vines in Umbria. It’s powerful and aromatic, while remaining precise and structured. Only about 100 cases are made each year.
