93 points James Suckling: "Dark berries with walnuts, hazelnuts and white pepper on the nose, following through to a full body with ultra-fine tannins and a chewy yet refined finish. Needs two or three years to come together. Drink after 2023. (6/9/21)"

92 points Wine Spectator: "[$23 list] Vibrant yet silky, boasting black cherry, blackberry, violet and iron flavors. The iron fist emerges by way of the firm tannins, and this finishes with a long aftertaste of fruit and dried herbs. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese. Drink now through 2030. Smart Buys. (3/31/22)"

92 points Falstaff: "Deep ruby-violet hues. Cherry juice and juicy plums on the nose, followed by nuances of dark chocolate, Mediterranean herbs, and dried violets. Fragrant. Opens on the palate with a lovely fruit expression and hearty tannins, with blackberries, and showing plenty of juice and extract. Powerful, but not ponderous, well made. (2/18/22)"

90 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "[$23 list] The zesty 2019 Non Confunditur wafts up with a darkly alluring yet also wonderfully fresh bouquet, as blackberries and currants give way to rubbed sage and crushed ashen stone. This is silky-smooth and soothing, casting a polished display of black and red berries across the palate, as mineral-driven tension forms toward the close. Sweet tannins create a sensation of youthful poise, yet they don't get in the way of the primary fruits that saturate throughout the long finish. Non Confunditur is refined in second and third-pass barriques and tonneaux, and it is composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon along with 20% Merlot and 10% Sangiovese. Drink: 2022-2027. (Jan 2022)"

Producer notes: "NC is a wine with a decisive, full-bodied character, smooth tannins and a persistent finish. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese reveals an exciting potency, with the innate gentleness of Merlot creating a bridge between the evident earthiness of Sangiovese, the aromatic blackcurrant flavour of Cabernet and the warm red berries of Syrah. The result is a generous, rounded red wine, destined for short to medium ageing, with delicious aromas of currants and generous fruit flavors, versatile enough to develop in greater depth during long months in the bottle."
