95 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): "[$60 list] The superb 2019 José Zuccardi was produced mainly with Malbec from Altamira and Gualtallary and a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon (from Gualtallary, a little backbone for the aging and a touch of complexity) that fermented separately and aged separately for one year in foudre and then was blended and put back in the foudre for one more year. This is very serious, with some austerity and elegance that I love. The wine is powerful and full-bodied, with 14.5% alcohol and a texture that coats your mouth with fine chalky tannins. This has the stuffing, balance and freshness to develop nicely in bottle. It was bottled in August 2021. Drink: 2023-2032. (11/30/22)"

95 points James Suckling: "Aromas of dark berries with licorice and asphalt, as well as black cherries. Pretty clarity to the nose. Full-bodied, yet tight and very reserved with ultra fine tannins that integrate beautifully into the body of the wine. Flavorful and polished. 95% malbec and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Fermented in concrete and aged for more than a year in casks. Try after 2023. (4/18/21)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "Elegant and inviting, with plumeria and orange peel details to the fine-textured raspberry and red currant core. Reveals mineral and herb nuances that fold in on the finish, echoing back to the core flavors. Drink now through 2030. (11/30/23)"

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a Malbec from the Uco Valley that showcases abundant fruit on the nose and palate. Polished tannins and optimal acidity provide a good frame for cherry, hibiscus and peppery notes. It's fresh and well-structured, offering a delicious lasting finish. (Apr 2024)"
