97 points Ian D'Agata Wine Review: "This is gorgeous. Lovely fresh yet ripe yellow fruit, honey, saffron, yellow peach, yellow melon and passion fruit on the captivating nose. Tactile and gently spicy apple, pear, Mirabelle and yellow melon flavours are nicely framed by crystalline acidity on the long, lemony, impeccably precise finish this is really great. Classically dry (3 g/L r/.s), this is really great which is something, given these vines were planted only in 2016. But if I had to pick the one grand cru in Alsace that is truly great with almost every grape variety you can think of, it would be the Hengst. Drinking window: 2028-2044. (10/17/25)"
97 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Sumptuous aromatic finesse in the Hengst, which displays flavors of white peach and citrus, well-defined and taut, with an endless, luminous finish. (2026)"
95 points Anne Krebiehl, MW (Vinous): "The 2023 Riesling Grand Cru Hengst is from a 2016-planted parcel with 9,000 vines per hectare that's steep and facing slightly more east, at the top of the site on slightly deeper soils. This is golden in hue but rather shy on the nose, still keeping its secrets. Much swirling reveals a cool touch of tangerine. The palate is wonderfully fluid, taut, soothing and fresh. Its elongated, serene mouthfeel is all citrus. (Bone-dry) Drink: 2028-2055. (Apr 2025)"
