98 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "If you have enough patience, this will turn into one of the greatest dry rieslings of the vintage. A tight rose bud in the nose and on the front palate, but then the wine expands in an almost supernatural fashion as it flows over the palate. Staggering minerality at the totally focused finish. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2024. (8/31/21)"

97 points Caro Maurer, MW (Decanter): "A hedonistic interpretation of Morstein. As usual, Philipp Wittmann has used both the potential of the site with its clay marl and limestone soil as well as the potential of Riesling to create a wine with great personality. It juggles herbal notes of amber and woodruff with ripe, juicy lime, apricot and peach fruit. Boasting soft, refined acidity, it is both graceful and generous at the same time. Drink: 2021-2040. (Aug 2021)"

95+ points Stephen Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Morstein Riesling GG is deep, pure and calcareous on the virtually chalky nose that reveals ripe and elegant yet still reduced fruit. Firm and saline on the palate, this is an elegant, fresh, stimulating and bitter Morstein with fine tannins and a long, intense and promising finish. Still discreet but fleshy, this will turn out to be a classic from a warm vintage, though the character of this 2020 is rather coolish. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022. Drink: 2026-2045. (Dec 2022)"

18.5/20 points Michael Schmidt (JancisRobinson.com): "The Morstein already impresses visually with a bright greenish robe. The nose is tempted with exotic fruit from citrus to pineapple, complemented by delicate spicy and earthy nuances. Very rich and seductive on the palate in its presentation of peach, pineapple and caramelised orange. Acidity lies very low, which emphasises the opulent character of the taste but interest is raised by spicy and mineral nuances. A hint of clove seems to point at tastefully applied wood-ageing. Drinking Window: 2023-2033. (8/30/21)"
