93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2021 Pinot Noir “Lewis MacGregor Vineyard” cuvée from Jeff Mangahas at Williams Selyem is an outstanding wine in the making. It comes in at 13.7 percent alcohol in this vintage, with the wine raised in fifty-nine percent new wood and forty-one percent “one wine” barrels. The wine is already beautifully expressive aromatically, offering up notes of dark berries, black cherries, woodsmoke, black tea, a dollop of savory brown spices, gravelly soil tones, hints of the cola to come with bottle age and a very elegant framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, soil-driven and has a superb core of black fruit, with tangy acids, fine-grained tannins and seamless balance on the long, nascently complex and very classy finish. This is still fairly primary in personality and deserves some bottle age to allow its secondary layers of complexity emerge. Fine juice. 2035-2075+. (Nov/Dec 2025)"
