93 points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Unoaked Chardonnay offers notable purity this vintage, with pretty aromas of apricot, Meyer lemon, biscuit and acacia with flinty streaks. The light-bodied palate balances energetic acidity with an alluring creamy texture, and it has a long finish with hints of beeswax. This is much more expressive than the average unoaked Chardonnay. 1,304 cases were made. Drink: 2023-2028. (Jun 2023)"

92 points Wine Spectator: "Vibrant, crisp and mouthwatering, with generous fresh lemony notes at the core, but this also has plenty of style, revealing accents of lemon basil, salted lime and yuzu on the finish. Drink now. (7/31/23)"

91 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "A pale, shimmering straw hue, the 2021 Chardonnay Unoaked is vibrant with lime blossom, pithy citrus, crushed rock, green apple, and fresh white flowers. Medium-bodied, with fresh acidity, a soft texture, and no harsh edges. It’s refreshing but supple, with notes of fresh pear and white flowers. followed by a good, clean finish. Drink it over the next several years. (Jul 2023)"

91 points James Suckling: "Sliced apple, lemongrass, heather and peach aromas and flavors. Medium body. Fine phenolics and a fresh finish. Drink now. (6/9/23)"

Producer notes: "Sourced from older vines in the Russian River Valley, the Unoaked Chardonnay showcases the beauty and purity of Chardonnay. Aromatics of apple, pear, and quince abound and are wrapped up with hints of white flowers and fennel pollen. With a great extract on the palate, the wine has wonderful balance and precision. Acidity from cool sites, coupled with lees stirring, help create a wine with verve and harmony. Alcohol 13.6%. Optimal Drinking Window: 2024-2031."
