93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Corton Le Clos du Roi Grand Cru has an attractive, quite floral bouquet with rose petal scents infusing the lively red berry fruit. Fine mineralité in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-knit tannins, one of the most saline of Vougeraie's reds, with a sense of tension on the finish. Excellent. 2027-2048. (Jan 2024)"

92-95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "20% destemmed fruit is placed at the bottom of the vat, then the rest follows in whole bunches. An excellent fresh purple colour, with a glossy, charming bouquet, then a steely backbone which shows off the elegant style of the fruit to good effect. Not massively intense but very consistent throughout with a good long finish. (Nov 2023)"

92-95 points/'Sweet spot,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .50 ha holding; 20% whole clusters). A wonderfully spicy broad-ranging nose features pure notes of wild red currant, leather, earth and a hint of wood influence. The delicious, vibrant and muscular medium weight plus flavors possess a beguiling mid-palate texture while exuding a subtle bead of minerality on the balanced, lingering and youthfully austere finale. This is excellent though a wine destined for long-term keeping. Drink: 2037+. (Jan 2024)"

94 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Roasted cherries, fresh leather and tobacco leaf create a lovely perfume that isn't just a big mash-up of fruit. The palate feels sculptural with Brancusi-like curvaceousness before the firm acidity slices down on the back palate. Lively and intense, this is a delicious Corton that will drink well in a few years and have staying power, too. (2022)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Very pure, airy with flowers, maybe a mineral note too, certainly it’s very crystalline. Broad, ultra silky – wonderful texture here – with some saline complexity to add to the rest of this complexity – that’s a great Corton – to drink now or keep 40 years! (1/14/24)"
