93 points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 01 23. The 2022er Wolfer Goldgrube Riesling Kabinett was made from early harvested fruit at 81° Oechsle on old vines in the Jon sector of the vineyard and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar. This offers a superb and still slightly yeasty nose made of pear, herbs, spices, citrusy elements, green apples, and smoke. The wine is superbly playful, zesty, and multi-layered on the palate and leaves a great sense of tart citrusy elements in the long and crisp finish. The aftertaste is still on the tart side. This hugely impressive Kabinett now only needs a couple of years to reveal its full potential. The lightness, depth, and precision are already remarkable. 2029-2042. (Jun 2023)"
Daniel and Moritz are, quite simply, among the greatest practitioners of Kabinett on planet earth, part of a very small and elite group including Julian Haart, Egon Müller, Keller, Weiser-Künstler and Willi Schaefer – the young Julian Ludes of Hermann Ludes may join the ranks soon enough, but right now these are my five. Try and buy as much of this as you can.
