91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Pommard Clos Micault 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet that demands just a little coaxing from the glass. It develops a noticeable marine/seaweed element with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly grainy tannins, fine depth and purity. Lovely blackberry and raspberry fruit laced with a touch of spice on the finish. Very fine. Closure: Diam 5. Drink: 2025-2045. (Dec 2021)"
92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "In contrast, the 2020 Clos Micault was showing very nicely and was really quite easy to assess and this will be a lovely wine with some bottle age. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a very black fruity blend of cassis, dark berries, roasted venison, a lovely base of dark soil tones, coffee bean, bonfire and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and broad-shouldered, with a sappy core of fruit, fine balance and grip, ripe, well-integrated tannins and a long, vibrant and nascently complex finish. This will be a lovely bottle in due course. 2033-2085+. (Nov/Dec 2021)"
Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "(Old vines!) A pretty nose with some redcurrant fruit in the flowers. Broad. Here’s a swathe of flavour energy, slight tannic texture but nothing dry. Full-flavoured, delicious wine – mouth-watering with super, finely pure fruit – in this vintage it’s very Volnay… (Dec 2021)"
