95 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The 2023 Bonnes-Mares from de Vogüé is a lush, concentrated wine boasting ripe black plum and mulberry aromas with hints of earth, smoke, and leather. The texture is dense, ‘horizontal’ in the expression of director Jean Lupatelli. The grapes are from the domaine’s 2.7 hectares, all on the ‘terres rouges’ section of the appellation with iron-rich clay soils, which makes this a substantial wine. Cellar this for seven to 10 years before opening and enjoy over the next three decades. Drinking Window: 2030-2060. (5/23/24)"
95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This is almost excessively fragrant—in a good way, were that possible. Summer flowers, cherry coulis and black currants get the nose started. Impressively, the vintage's fruit generosity gives this unusual amplitude this year. Rather than being compact and turned in on itself (after all, this comes exclusively from red soils), it's as though it is reaching out to invite you in. The fruit is almost cuddly in its suppleness. Wispy lacings of minerality fleck the wine from start to finish. These 60-65 year old vines turned out an especially impressive and expressive cuvée this year. (Jan 2025)"
92-95 points Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy): "Glowing purple, then a very seductive nose, deep red berry fruits with complexity, However the structure is notably firmer here, even a hint of earthiness, before the deep red fruit, with a suggestion of blackberry and black cherry, advances. Fairly concentrated. Good acidity."
92-95 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a very large 2.67 ha parcel situated entirely in terres rouges soil in the far southern portion of the vineyard). A slightly riper nose of blue skinned fruit, plum, anise and more evident floral influence is complemented by the equally ripe, rich and opulent larger-bodied flavors where the seductive texture contrasts markedly with the firm, serious, powerful and robust finale. This beautifully well-balanced and superbly long effort should age effortlessly. Drink: 2038+. (Jan 2025)”
94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The domaine’s 2023 Bonnes-Mares was really showing well at the time of my visit, as it had not shut down after its racking. The wine is deep, complex and sappy on the nose, showing a lovely mix of red and black fruit tones in its bouquet of plums, red and black cherries, gamebird, raw cocoa, a complex base of terres rouges soil tones, woodsmoke and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, precise and sappy at the core, with tangy acids, ripe, buried tannins, excellent focus and grip and a long, complex and very, very promising finish. 2038-2100. (Jan/Feb 2025)"
94 points/'Outstanding,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Bonnes Mares is fresh, lively, and vivid to a surprising degree. It is the new style of Vogüé Bonnes Mares. It is Rich and expressive, with cool blueberries and raspberries … I do love the energy here. Drink from 2033. (1/22/25)"
93-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2023 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is a success, offering up aromas of cherries, sweet red berries, iris and vine smoke, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered palate that's elegantly rich and textural, with sweet tannins and a saline, perfumed finish. (Jan 2025)"
