94 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Coming from several parcels that range from 200 to 300 meters in altitude, this cuvée provides depth and crispness. Spiced applesauce, wet stones and Keebler crackers give this a broad range of flavors. Nicely weighty at the core, there is perfectly-pitched acidity to give this crowd-pleasing drinkability. (2025)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru is the only cuvée from two lieu-dits that are blended together. This has a lively and exuberant bouquet, very expressive of its terroir and at the moment, displaying more energy than the Fôrets. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, just a touch mentholé towards the finish, but retaining freshness and terroir expression throughout. I see this maturing beautifully in bottle - a very impressive 2023 in the making. Drink: 2026-2042. (Aug 2024)"

91-93 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .55 ha holding that is divided between .45 ha in Pied d'Aloup and .10 ha in Chapelot). Here too the expressive nose is wafting and airy with its array of more floral-suffused aromas that include those of iodine, spice, shrimp shell and sea breeze nuances. While the middle weight flavors are not particularly dense, they are notably finer, indeed sophisticated, with evident minerality adding a sense of lift to the relatively tightly coiled finish. This is quite classy and should also age well, in this case offering up to a decade of potential improvement. Drink: 2031+. (Oct 2024)"

91-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "The new holdings are in Pied d’Aloue and Chapelots, though not enough of the latter to make separately. Pale lemon colour. The nose suggests weight, a little more forthcoming than Forêts. This one opens out beautifully on the palate, refined yellow fruit, all nicely harnessed and with fine length. Some honeysuckle and melon which is fine. (Jun 2024)"

91-92 points Kristaps Karklins (Wine Advocate): "Eleni & Edouard Vocoret’s 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is sourced from a 0.14-hectare plot in Chapelot and 0.4 hectares in Pied d’Alou, planted in 1981 and the 1960s, respectively. It mingles the clay-rich soils of the former with the stonier soils of the latter. Expressive and more flamboyant than the tight-knit Butteaux, it soars from the glass with scents of crisp pear, beeswax, tangerine zest and peach. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, ample, enveloping and textural with a bright spine of acidity and chalky grip, concluding with a saline finish. (Mar 2025)"
