93 points John Gilman (View from the Cellar): "Pierre-Marie Chermette’s iconic Beaujolais “Origine” Vieilles Vignes bottling is excellent in 2023, coming in at a nicely ripe thirteen percent octane in this vintage. The wine delivers a deep and refined aromatic constellation of black cherries, pomegranate, a touch of dark berry, coffee bean, a nice touch of whole clusters, fresh thyme, gamebird, dark soil tones and a smoky topnote of distant bonfire. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with fine soil inflection, superb balance and grip, modest tannins and impeccable balance on the long, complex and vibrant finish. This has been great wine since the very first vintage that I ever tasted of the wine, which happened to be the 1988! 2024-2045. (Summer 2024)"
