95 points Decanter: "Named after a song by the group Radiohead, the 2021 Spinning Plates Cabernet Sauvignon comprises the largest portion of Vice Versa's production (at a still modest 1,500 cases). Predominantly crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, this red is sourced from different Napa Valley vineyards each vintage and usually sees 70% new French oak in its ageing regimen of 20 months in barrels. This is a rather classic Cabernet Sauvignon with serious structure and integrity and a freshness that comes forward through the rather compact and dense palate. Despite that density, this red comes off as very energetic. Gorgeous aromas abound of black currants and a hint of capsicum, with fragrant and elegant cedarwood spices. Ripe blackberry and Bing cherry fruit flavours intermix with red and black currants, liquorice, and Chinese five spice all appear on the palate, which also presents chocolate-tinged tannins that are extremely fine-grained. It all resolves with a long slate-stone finish, enhanced by hints of dried wild herbs and baking spices. Drinking window 2024-2038 (Apr 2024)"
