91 points Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Viña Real Crianza was produced with 90% Tempranillo and the rest Garnacha Tinta, Mazuelo and Graciano from Rioja Alavesa. It matured in French and American oak barrels for 13 to 14 months. It has 14% alcohol, a pH of 3.6 and is polished and easy to understand. All the younger reds have some common aromatic notes reminiscent of honey and beeswax, aromatic herbs and berries. It has abundant, fine-grained tannins. 650,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2024. Drink: 2025-2029. (2/29/24)"
91 points Joaquín Hidalgo (Vinous): "The 2021 Crianza, a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano from Rioja Alavesa, aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. Garnet in color, this wine offers fresh plums and cherries accompanied by wild herbs. Dry and juicy on the palate, the fine-grained tannins lead to a cleansing and lasting finish. This is a modern expression of Rioja. (Drink between 2024-2035. (Apr 2024)"
90 points Tim Atkin, MW: "Showing grapes from the Rioja Alavesa, this very well-priced Crianza is a partnership of Tempranillo with 10% Garnacha, Mazuelo and Graciano. Textured, perfumed and redfruited, it's an easy-going cuvée with patisserie oak spices and supple, caressing tannins. 2024-2028. (2024)"
90 points Ines Salpico (Decanter): "A crianza with approachable drinkability and fragrant depth. Black cherry, cherry pip, pomegranate and red plum, dipped in green olive brine and topped with blood orange, fragrant sage, thyme, oregano and tarragon. Medium finish with a spicy lining. Drinking Window: 2025-2028. (3/7/25)"
