The attack is more mineral and citrus-driven; behind those initial aromas, there is ripe apple and apricot and hints of hay and beeswax. In short, there is textbook Verget richness, but there is still plenty of acidity to balance everything out. The grapes are from a southeast-facing terroir in Vergisson; the grapes are fermented in 25% new casks, but the wood is easily integrated in this substantial wine. Drink: 2025-2040. (Nov 2022)"
