98 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Lastly, the 2016 Vatan Arena is a vine-by-vine selection and a tiny production cuvée that was fermented all in 600-liter barrels before being moved to barrel. Deep ruby/purple-hued, its notes of cassis, classy oak, graphite, and violet all define the aromatics, and it's gorgeously balanced, full-bodied, and pure, with ultra-fine tannins and a great, great finish. Incredibly complete, layered, and complex, it's just a magical wine. (07/3/24)."
97 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "[$450 list] Aromas of brambly fruits of the wood, bittersweet chocolate and hints of thyme, lavender and sage set the stage for cassis, blackberry, mocha, violet and dried Mediterranean herb flavors. Plush tannins come on strong and then vibrant acidity kicks in, lingering on the palate along with berry and chocolate notes. (Jul 2023)"
