97 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "[$200 list] The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from 100% of this grape. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has a powerful nose of baked plums, stewed blackberries and cassis with nuances of dried lavender and fallen leaves, plus a hint of cedar. Taut, firm and full-bodied in the mouth, the black berry layers deliver loads of savory accents, and it finishes on a persistent peppery note. 250 cases were made. Drink: 2023-2053. (Oct 2021)"
95 points Jonathan Cristaldi (Decanter): "Vangone's estate vineyard is on a plateau east of the Silverado Trail, above the Rector Reservoir between Oakville and Yountville. Mark Davidowski has owned the site since the early 1990s but didn’t plant vines until 2012. Sam Kaplan has been the winemaker since the first vintage in 2016 and 300 cases of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 32 months in French oak, were made in 2018. Concentrated aromas of black fruits, tilled earth, cedar oak, pie crust and vanilla bean. Elongated satiny tannins support a spicy palate of blueberry, blackberry and graphite, with lifts of sagebrush and a purple florals. Drinking Window: 2021-2030. (12/5/21)"
