97 points Kristaps Karklins (Wine Advocate): "Les Maillons, the largest cuvée of the estate, is sourced from a 2.5-hectare east-facing site in Barbonne-Fayel, in the Sézannais, where 80 centimeters of clay-rich topsoil overlay Campanian chalk. The latest release, the NV Blanc de Noirs Les Maillons (2019 base) 48 months is based on the 2019 vintage, complemented by 40% reserve wines (mostly from 2018), and it was disgorged in February 2024 with a dosage of 2.4 grams per liter after 48 months on the lees, a considerable investment to extend the bottle aging by an additional year. The site is, on average, 1.5 degrees warmer than Les Pierrières, and Les Maillons delivers the most generously structured, roundest and immediate wine in the Ulysse Collin range. It soars from the glass with a deep bouquet of red plum, spices, pear, toasted nuts and beeswax. The slightly more oxidative tendency of Pinot Noir, especially alarming in high-maturity vintages, prompted Olivier to invest in a new press. Since 2018, this has paid dividends, allowing for more selective extraction and greater control. Full-bodied, multidimensional and muscular yet sapid, with a layered core of fruit underpinned by vibrant acidity, it’s the finest of the warm-vintage Les Maillons bottlings to date. Drink 2025-2034 (Apr 2025)"
