The bouquet wafts from the glass in a very expressive blend of black cherries, sweet dark berries, roasted venison, chalky soil tones, bitter chocolate, bonfire and toasty oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full and nicely ripe, with an excellent core of sappy fruit, lovely mineral undertow, fine-grained tannins and a long, complex and very refined finish.
