94-95 points Sarah Marsh, MW (The World of Fine Wine): "Rich and energetic on the attack, this combines depth and concentration with notable vibrancy. Plentiful tannins turbo-boost the freshness and it focuses with attention on a vigorous finish. 2028-35+. (2022)"

93-95 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Capita is the last rendition of this cuvée that Trapet will produce, because in the future all the domaine's premiers crus will be separated. The swan song vintage derives exclusively from vines trained on "paisseaux" (as the Burgundians call the stakes, known as échalas in other regions, that support each individual vine) and was vinified without any destemming. The resulting wine is striking, soaring from the glass with scents of sweet red berries and plums mingled with orange rind, rose petals and exotic spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, it's deep and complete, with beautifully refined tannins, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish. (1/20/22)"

94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "As I mentioned in the introduction, the 2020 vintage of Capita is a blend of En Ergot and Corbeaux solely this year, as the Combottes is now standing on its own. I do not know if everyone knows just how beautifully situated En Ergot is, as it is effectively the southeasterly corner of Petite Chapelle, and Corbeaux lies right alongside Mazis-Chambertin on the slope, so these two make a good blend. The 2020 Capita offers up a superb bouquet of black cherries, dark berries, woodsmoke, a complex base of soil, a touch of new leather, coffee bean and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, complex and sappy at the core, with lovely transparency and grip, fine-grained tannins and impeccable balance on the long and complex finish. Fine juice. 2032-2080. (Nov/Dec 2021)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "Containing 100% whole bunch, the 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Capita, comes from declassified fruit from Les Combottes, Ergot (next to La Petite-Chapelle) and Corbeaux. It has a very perfumed bouquet, one of the most floral in Trapet's range with hints of iris and lavender. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, taut and fresh with a very elegant and poised finish. Excellent. Drink: 2025-2048. (May 2022)"

90-93 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "The last one! Next year all the 1ers crus will be bottled separately. This year Capita covers En Ergot, and Corbeaux with Combottes already taken out to make apart. 100% whole bunch. Rich dark purple. This is one of the sultry noses that suggests over ripeness. At the moment with a heavy dry finish, but may refine before the end of elevage. (Nov 2021)"
