94 points (17/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "More tense, brimming with staggering energy, Capita shows itself to be a little more submissive to its wood grip. (2020)"
93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "As I mentioned above, this bottling is composed of a blend of Combottes, Ergots and Corbeaux and the wine is exceptional in 2017. The aromatic constellation delivers a blend of red cherries, cassis, dark berries, grilled meats, black minerality, raw cocoa, mustard seed and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and pure on the attack, with an excellent core of fruit, lovely mineral drive and a very long, vibrant and complex finish of fine-grained tannins and excellent precision. Just outstanding. 2025-2065. (Nov/Dec 2018)"
91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Capita is a blend of fruit from the premiers crus En Ergot, Corbeaux and Combottes, supplemented—if I understood Jean-Louis Trapet correctly—by a visual selection of small-berried clusters from Petite Chapelle and Clos Prieur which are not destemmed. The wine offers up attractive notes of red and black cherries, raw cocoa, espresso roast and cedary new wood, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample palate with bright acids and fine-grained tannins. (1/31/19)"
92 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Pure clean mid purple, while the nose shows fresh raspberry overlaid with a light veneer of vanilla oak. Clean, compact, energetic, red fruit intensity, good acidity, and a little oak to finish. (Sep 2021)"
