92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Where the style of the terroir of Petite Chapelle is a perfect fit with the elegance of the 2014 vintage, here, the more rustic nature of young Clos Prieur is perfectly tamed by the vintage and the wine has turned out impressively refined right out of the blocks this year. The very red fruity bouquet is flat out stunning, wafting from the glass in a blend of cherries, red plums, a touch of blood orange, cocoa, dark soil tones, smoke and a deft framing of nutty new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and beautifully transparent, with a sappy core, suave tannins, fine length and outstanding elegance for Clos Prieur out of the blocks. This is another excellent premier cru chez Trapet in 2014. Like the Petite Chapelle, this is fifty percent whole clusters as well this year. 2021-2060. (Nov/Dec 2015)"
92 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Palish medium red Initially restrained nose opened quickly to reveal slightly high-toned scents of cherry, smoked meat and earth; Trapet compared this wine's early wildness to his Latricières Fine-grained and alive, delivering a captivating combination of silky sweetness and firm acidity This wine reminded me a bit of Trapet's young 2015s Finishes solidly tannic, sophisticated and long Drink: 2022-2031. (Mar 2017)"
