It envelopes the senses with masses of ripe red fruits complicated by a twang of sour citrus as saline-minerals and fine tannins saturate toward the close. A cool-toned air of menthol combines with inner violet and lavender florals, which finally give way to nuances of black licorice. The 2019 finishes long and only lightly structured. There are so many layers here. While you might say that the Mazzamurello is a more internationally-styled Montepulciano, having matured in all new barriques, the fact is that the integration is perfect, and the purity of fruit is spot-on.
