91 points Eric Guido (Vinous): "[$35 list] The 2019 Etna Rosso is coy at first, requiring coaxing to unlock its dusty mix of dried roses, red currants and exotic spice. This is a juicy and fun effort, one that places purity of fruit up front, yet then seduces the senses with depths of salty minerals and sour citrus that set off the entire experience. While not the last word on length, the 2019 Etna Rosso finishes crisply refreshing while leaving a hint of hard red candies to linger on. Drink: 2022-2025. (Jun 2022)"
91 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The Tornatore 2019 Etna Rosso is a blend of Nerello Mascarello with a 5% touch of Nerello Cappuccio added to give a bit more color to the wine. In fact, "Nerello" is a diminutive of the word "nero" (or "black") and underlines the grape's light appearance. This entry-level wine is aged in oak for eight months to show dark cherry, spice and blue flower. Fruit comes from young vines that are 10 years old. Drink: 2023-2027. (Jun 2023)."
Producer notes: "Ruby red with faint purple, typical of this variety which is not very rich in color. Clear hints of red berries, morello cherry and black cherry on the nose. The taste is characterized by its typical balanced tannins and a surprising fullness, flavor and persistence."
