The Cantina Terlano 2019 Alto Adige Terlano Pinot Bianco Riserva Vorberg is softly textured and rich. Its aromas are well integrated and balanced, starting off with pear and crisp apple and continuing to sage, saffron and a spicy hint of white licorice. It’s silky and deeply textural, washing creamy waves of ripe orchard fruits across the palate, while leaving saline-minerals that create a more tactile feel. There are depths yet unseen here, as the 2019 comes across as densely packed and layered, yet with perfect balance and a tart citrus reverberation that adds energy. It finishes long and lightly structured, leaving the palate completely refreshed. This is just a baby today, yet it is full of potential. To get to this vineyard, which sits at 600m altitude, you cross a suspension bridge with a 200m drop, affectionately referred to as the Brooklyn Bridge by the winemaking team. Rudi Kofler winemaker. Wonderful balance of creamy richness with delicately toasty and caramelized-pear character.
