96 points James Suckling: "This vintage shows a remarkable aromatic profile of Mediterranean herbs, cassis, black cherries, leather and earth with a kind of gamey depth. Full-bodied, it shows velvety, slightly sandy tannins with a firm structure, refreshing integrated acidity and a savory cedar finish. Drinkable now, but best in one or two years. (3/27/25)"
95 points Ian D'Agata Wine Review: "Luminous deep red-ruby. Sneaky concentration to the deep aromas of dark plum, blackcurrant reduction, black olives, Mediterranean herbs, and leather that are nicely complicated by earth tones and herbs. Then suave and layered in the mouth, with still youthfully chewy but noble tannins nicely framing the black and blue fruit flavourson the long focused finish. A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot, this is drinking beautifully but will benefit from a few years in the cellar so as to fully smoothen out. .. The 2023 is another beautiful Guidalberto, a wine that has to unfortunately live in the shadow of Sassicaia. However, knowledgeable wine lovers are well aware that Guidalberto offers plenty of bang for their buck and is an exceptionally good buy, given the quality in the bottles. It’s the case once again in 2023. Drinking window: 2029-2039. (Apr 2025)"
94 points International Wine Report: "The 2023 Guidalberto displays wonderful finesse and class as it opens to aromas of dark cherries and black currants, which are woven together with florals, herbs and exotic spices that all take shape. On the palate this is medium-bodied and beautifully balanced with excellent overall focus and precision. It continues to impress with its sleek texture that leads into a finish that lingers beautifully. The blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot is already appealing now, yet there also looks to be a lovely future ahead. Drink: 2026-2038. (Mar 2025)"
94 points Raffaele Vecchione (WinesCritic.com): "A decidedly bright sensory profile, it displays notes of cherries, red plums, wild strawberries, green mandarins, and wild thyme. Numerous nuances of lemongrass, chamomile, hibiscus, and flowering wisteria characterize the secondary notes. Medium-full body, lean yet present on the palate, it displays firm, well-structured tannins and a progressive finish. Gentle, it invites a sip and begs for a return. Drink now or age. (Mar 2025)"
93 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "Jewel-like ruby red, love the rustic, sappy tannins, and the savoury mouthwateringly juicy black fruits fruit, layered with orange peel, cocoa bean, underbrush, finessed, full of signature Tuscan charm transforming these Bordeaux varieties. Approachable, discreet, great length, unflashy, well made, great stuff from the team at Tenuta San Guido. Drink: 2025-2035. (Mar 2025)"
92-94 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "The 2023 Guidalberto was tasted as a preview and was a preliminary blend of barrel samples prepared for this tasting by the winery team, led by Carlo Paoli. The second sample that was blended was pure and ripe, with detailed layers of youthful cherry liqueur, fresh herbs, and lavender perfume. The palate offers medium to full-bodied richness, with a supple and primary feel, though it starts to reveal its underlying refined structure. While this was an early preliminary look at what the wine could look like, I’m looking forward to next year’s tasting to see how it develops. (Mar 2025)"
