98 points Monty Waldin (Decanter): "2007 was an old-school vintage whose steady growing season - sun and rain at the right times, no unwelcome surprises - culminated in a sunny but cool harvest period. This cool finale partly explains Ornellaia 2007's really remarkable Peter Pan-like freshness and its benign but still purposeful tannins. The fruit has a tactile feel, the customary 'Made in Bolgheri' silkiness given an unusually tight weave in this case, which holds your attention, not least because this is oak- as well as fruit-driven. And the fruit is generous, crunchy-smooth and stimulating. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot. Drinking Window: 2021-2037. (3/27/21)"
97 points Wine Spectator: "[$200 list] A wine that does everything right and puts it in beautiful balance. Full-bodied, yet reserved, silky and elegant, with wonderful fruit and friendly tannins. Best after 2012. (10/31/10)"
97 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2007 Ornellaia is a wine of texture above all else. What the 2007 lacks in aromatic intensity it more than makes up for with its sumptuous, generous personality. Silky and inviting, with soft contours and seemingly endless layers of dark red-fleshed fruit, the 2007 is absolutely delicious today. Drinking Window: 2016-2031. (Jan 2017)"
97 points Falstaff Guide: "Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate watery rim. Fresh cherry fruit, delicate hints of blackberries, candied orange zest, some chocolate. Full-bodied, round and already well developed, silky tannins, extract-sweet and persistent, incredibly seductive, shows good length, not easy to hold back. (Jul 2015)"
95 points Ian D'Agata (International Wine Cellar): "[$200 list] Good, moderately saturated ruby. Sexy aromas of blackberry, plum and chocolatey oak are lifted by an enticing violet note. Sweet, lush and fine-grained, with a peppery blackberry flavor complicated by saline and coffee elements. This very cabernet sauvignon-dominated wine boasts terrific varietal character and finishes broad, sweet and mouthcoating. It's one of the best versions of Ornellaia ever, though it may not prove as ageworthy as some other fine vintages of this wine. Having followed Ornellaia closely ever since it was first made, I never cease to be amazed by how much it has improved over the early efforts, such as the 1985, when the vines were just too young to produce the level of quality this wine frequently achieves nowadays. (Sep/Oct 2010)"
Three Glasses, Gambero Rosso: "Our pick of this year's crop is the extraordinary '07 version of the Ornellaia. Three instant, outstanding Glasses. Very young as yet, it already fascinates with its delicious aromas of coffee beans and black cherries laced with subtle grassy, spicy nuances that frame a rich, creamy palate with incomparable texture and never-ending length. (2011)"
