94 points & "Top Buy: America's 30 Best Syrahs" Decanter: "Sourced from five vineyard sites, Tensley's basic Syrah contrasts the sun-drenched richness of black fruit against a savoury backdrop of crushed black pepper, olives and sage. Full-bodied but flecked with salt and earth, it's an accessibly priced introduction to the diversity of Santa Barbara County. Drinking window 2024-2032 (Feb 2024)"

92-94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A year-in, year-out smoking wine, the 2022 Syrah Santa Barbara County reveals a deep ruby hue as well as a ripe, decadent, full-bodied style in its pure black and blue fruits, peppery herbs, and violet-driven aromas and flavors. Textured and beautifully balanced, with a great finish, it's going to shine right out of the gate. (8/30/23)"

93 points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Syrah Santa Barbara County is scented of cassis, blueberries, warm chocolate, forest floor, lavender and iron. The full-bodied palate features powerful, floral fruit supported by soft, approachable tannins and bursts of mouthwatering acidity, and it has a long, fragrant finish. It's dangerously easy to drink without sacrificing nuance or complexity. Drink: 2025-2035. (Dec 2023)"

The Santa Barbara County Syrah is a beautiful representation of the diverse vineyards all around the appellation. These grapes are coming from five unique vineyards, in which some are cool and fog-influenced, while others are dry and windy. The resulting wine celebrates all that each microclimate and soils has to offer creating a big, juicy, up-front, and full-bodied style carrying blue fruits, lots of peppery herb nuances, sweet tannins, and a great finish. Drink this blend now or age it up to 7-10 years.
