97 points Mark Squires (Wine Advocate): "The NV 50 Year Old Tawny Port is a field blend bottled with a bar-top cork in 2022 and with 158 grams of residual sugar. Mature, with dark chocolate nuances, this is rich, deep and sensationally delicious. The concentration is exceptional too. Then, there's the long, long finish, filled with fruit and sugar. It is irresistible, in addition to being nuanced and complex. It's young enough so that it is never just a curiosity. The fruit is certainly not cracking. Drink: 2022-2060. (Aug 2022)"

97 points James Suckling: "The aromas here show a half a century old elixir of a port with dried fruits such as sultanas and figs with toffee, caramel and old wood. Burnt orange, too. Yet it’s subtle and not overpowering or lifted. Full-bodied, very sweet with so much salted caramel and dried fruits on the palate and there’s a fruity undertone to it. I like how it’s not volatile or rancio and very clean. Drink now. (10/5/22)"

97 points Wine & Spirits: "Sweet in the best sense: A beehive of lively flavor, a direct line from honey back to flowers, this is complex and grand, delivering its pleasures for two or three minutes after each taste. It’s a Tawny of stamina and energy, the kind of evocative wine to enjoy with conversation. Yum. (Feb 2023)"

Producer notes: "This 50 year old Tawny was sourced in the eastern reaches of the Douro Valley, location of many of the finest vineyard estates and traditional source of the most long lasting wines. Prior to blending, the individual wines were aged in Taylor Fladgate cellars in seasoned oak casks specially selected and set aside by the firm’s team of expert coopers. After half a century in cask, this exceptional wine has reached its 'golden age' of maturity, the point at which it achieves perfect balance, a magical complexity and a seductive smoothness and density."
